Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Customer Success Manager (CSM) to join our AWS Cloud team. The CSM will act as a trusted advisor, helping our customers maximize the value of their AWS investments. This role requires a mix of technical knowledge, business acumen, and strong relationship-building skills to drive adoption, optimize costs, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned AWS customers, building strong strategic relationships.
- Drive adoption of AWS services, ensuring alignment with customer business objectives.
- Analyze usage patterns and recommend cost optimization strategies, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing of resources.
- Coordinate with AWS Solutions Architects, Support, and Professional Services teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Conduct regular business reviews, track KPIs, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Guide customers through cloud migration, modernization, and best practice implementation.
- Proactively identify risks, potential issues, and opportunities to enhance customer experience and cloud ROI.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, etc.)
- Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business value
- Experience with cost optimization and ROI analysis in cloud environments
- Project/account management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously
- Analytical problem-solving and performance monitoring skills
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent)
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with specialized AWS services (AI/ML, serverless, DevOps)
- Hands-on cloud migration experience
- Data analysis and visualization skills (QuickSight, Tableau, Excel)
- Industry-specific cloud expertise (finance, healthcare, e-commerce, etc.)
- Change management and internal training experience
- Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum)
Alternative Skills (Optional)
- Knowledge of Azure, Google Cloud, or multi-cloud environments
- Technical consulting or pre-sales experience
- IT service management (ITIL) knowledge
- Basic scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with customer success platforms (Salesforce, Gainsight, HubSpot)
- Business analysis and KPI tracking skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7 years of experience in cloud computing, customer success, or technical account management
- AWS certifications are highly preferred
