The client
Founded in 1969 as a Silicon Valley start-up, our client is a leader in the market for computer processors with its chips leveraged by Meta, Tesla, the Mars Landrover, 5G cell towers, and the world's fastest supercomputer. We partnered with their largest design centre in India to consolidate and enhance its Atlassian stack. The goal of our 3+ years of partnership was to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our client’s project management and workflow processes.
Client requirements
Consolidated Atlassian Environment
Replace the complex multi-instance Atlassian stack with a unified system to improve project tracking and timeline monitoring.
Efficient Project Assignment
Eliminate manual project assignments by automating task and resource allocation, reducing time consumption and enhancing overall efficiency.
Streamlined Platform Management
Consolidate project management efforts into a single platform to reduce confusion and minimize errors associated with handling multiple platforms.
Our approach
We conducted an in-depth assessment (Discovery) of our client’s existing Atlassian environment to understand its technical infrastructure, compliance requirements, and business goals.
Planning: We developed a comprehensive plan to migrate to the Data Center and implement the necessary enhancements.
Implementation: We implemented a tailored dashboard for transparent resource allocation and project tracking. Additionally, we developed a custom script that automates project assignments to available resources based on skills and experience. Other enhancements: We implemented a number of other enhancements, such as streamlining the knowledge base migration process and ensuring minimal downtime during the migration.
Collaboration: We worked closely with our client throughout the process to ensure that the new system met their needs and exceeded their expectations.
Our solution

Migration from Server to Atlassian Data Center
We exported the team-managed issues to a CSV file, which was then transferred to company-managed projects. Custom field data was imported, and we migrated from a Server to a Data Center environment, prioritising minimal downtime and no disruption to business hours.

Integrating Tools
Once we had successfully migrated the database, we automatically assigned each task to the corresponding existing resource. We did this by connecting Jira Script Runner to the relevant database in Jira, which allowed us to retrieve the previously assigned values. We then integrated Salesforce and Jira using ZAgile Connector.

Migrated client’s knowledge base from Server to Data Center
Our client’s server license and support were expiring in February 2024, so we migrated their knowledge base to a two-multi-node Data Center deployment structure. This ensured the high availability of Confluence and enabled all users to access new Data Center features. Our experts took great care to minimize downtime and disruption to business hours throughout the process.
