The recently concluded Atlassian Team ’24 event was a roaring success. Offering a multitude of networking opportunities, interactive labs, and hands-on training, Team ’24 saw a buzzing expo floor, show-stopping keynotes, and more. The event offered the perfect platform for business associates to meet and greet their peers, Atlassian experts, and other vendors. It also allowed attendees to connect with Atlassian experts for deep dives, 1-on-1s, and group discussions.

However, getting a peek into all the latest updates across the entire portfolio of Atlassian products is what got everyone the most excited. Read on as we shed light on Atlassian’s announcements at Team ’24 and how they are aimed to unleash the potential of every team and every enterprise.

Better Together: Jira Work Management + Jira Software

Teamwork makes the dream work. Atlassian’s diverse range of products has one thing in common – they are all centered around boosting team productivity and efficiency. Jira, Confluence, and Loom, for instance, create a powerful teamwork foundation, supporting shared goals, knowledge, and progress.

However, to make it easier for teams to use different tools, Atlassian announced the integration of Jira Work Management and Jira Software. Working as a single project management tool across the board, this newly combined Jira platform presents the best of both worlds, allowing teams to:

Jira-JSM-integration

  • Leverage lists in Jira to streamline user experience via spreadsheet-style UX and plans to see how they are progressing toward their shared goals.
  • Make cross-functional connectivity the norm using new collaboration and communication features that are built into the system.
  • Track goals and stay focused and aligned, leverage AI-powered shortcuts to overcome pain points, explore new ways to visualize work, and enjoy rich integrations with Confluence and Loom to foster knowledge-sharing.

“We believe great teams are built on a foundation of shared goals, coordinated work, and free-flowing information across functions,” said Dave Meyer, the Head of Product for Jira. “The latest evolution of Jira offers a shared place for every team to align on goals and priorities, track and collaborate on work, and get the insights they need to build something incredible, together. We’ve taken the best of Jira Work Management and Jira Software to make a single project management tool ready to help any team go from good to great.”

Incident Management Redefined: Powering JSM with Atlassian Intelligence

Atlassian Intelligence and Jira Service Management will present teams with summarized ticket information while also notifying them about high-priority tickets. It will also suggest next steps and offer recommendations of subject matter experts, surfacing root causes, knowledge base articles, and more – allowing teams to resolve issues faster.

Transforming Issue Resolution: Loom AI for Development Teams

Loom AI will enable development teams to create a bug report using a single click. By automatically filling out all the details of a bug or issue from a Jira ticket, it will help developers streamline the issue resolution process while allowing them to focus their time and attention on the more critical tasks.

Excellence Personified: Premium Edition of Jira Product Discovery

The latest addition to plans is the introduction of the premium edition of Jira Product Discovery. This premium version will enable teams to get comprehensive, end-to-end visibility across all their projects, and give full control over who has access to view and edit ideas and exploit a multitude of AI capabilities to accelerate capturing and prioritizing ideas.

Debuting a Developer Experience Platform: The Acquisition of Optic

The acquisition of Optic and integration into Compass will allow organizations to leverage API auto documentation within their Compass instance. While teams can enjoy automatic detection and updating of all changes made to APIs, they will also be able to connect API information to scorecards, helping boost documentation accuracy and coverage while also preventing API incidents from happening.

Incidence Response 2.0: Opsgenie Capabilities Within JSM

Another exciting announcement made at Team ’24 is the resurrection of incidence response. All the capabilities of Opsgenie will now be available inside Jira Service Management and Compass – out of the box. Using Jira Service Management, both Dev and Ops teams can enjoy a new incidence response experience within their favorite tools.
